You are invited to the launch of the Centre for Health Studies, Apothecaries’ Hall. Join us to celebrate the introduction of the new academic hub of the Society, which encompasses all our academic activities. Delivering a range of diplomas, courses, lectures and events, the Centre for Health Studies represents specialist areas, such as the History & Philosophy of Medicine and Pharmacy, Conflict & Catastrophe Medicine and supports the continuing development of GU, HIV and Tropical Medicine amongst others.
We are delighted to announce that Professor Sir David Warrell will be giving this evening’s inaugural Spring Lecture on ‘Adventures in Search of Envenoming & Poisoning’. In this fascinating lecture, Sir David will describe expeditions to some exotic environments in order to discover and investigate patients envenomed by snakes, scorpions, spiders, and marine animals.
Professor Sir David Warrell is Emeritus Professor of Tropical Medicine, University of Oxford. His career has been as physician, zoologist, teacher, researcher, resident, and traveller in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Papua New Guinea.
